Samson Expedition XP106w Rechargeable Portable PA – First Look

Samson Expedition XP106w Rechargeable Portable PA – First Look

In this video, I take my first look at the Samson Expedition XP106w battery powered portable PA system. As I move back in to playing live music, especially acoustic music, I needed a solution for amplifying my acoustic guitar and vocals, and the XP106 seems to fit the bill.

The device boasts a built-in 4 channel mixer, USB wireless microphone, Bluetooth connectivity and up to 20 hours of continuous use thanks to the built-in rechargeable battery.

Subscribe to the channel if you would like to see the XP106w in action, as I will be using it and testing in some real world test videos in the very near future.

Ego vs Self-Esteem in Music

Ego vs Self- Esteem – is there a place for ego in music and what is the relationship between the two?

In this video I talk about a concept which Warren Huart (Produce Like a Pro) mentioned in a recent video.

What are your thoughts? Do you agree with this assessment or am I way off?

How to create a 12 bar blues song in GarageBand iOS (iPhone/iPad).

In this video, we’re going to have some fun using the “scale” function in GarageBand iOS to create a simple but very cool 12 bar blue jam right here in GarageBand iOS.

GarageBand lets you use any scale you like, including major, minor, blues and many more, so you don’t need any musical knowledge to create some great sounds.

JBL Endurance Run headphones – Review after one week

Just over a week ago I took a first look at the JBL Endurance Run headphones, and now I’m back to let you know what I think after using these headphones.

The verdict? These are some of the best value headphones I’ve come across, with great quality audio, excellent built-in mic (you can hear the audio quality in this video), and unique but comfortable ear pieces.

If you’re in the market for some affordable earbuds, these are definitely a great option.

Limiter for iPhone – FAC Maxima First Look (GarageBand iOS)

Limiter for iPhone – FAC Maxima First Look (GarageBand iOS).

The number one plug-in that is missing for GarageaBand iPhone and GarageBand iPad is a decent limiter. Compression and EQ can really help, but a limiter can take it to the next level and give your tracks that boost in gain and presence, without losing the quality you have worked hard to achieve.

FAC Maxima is an Audio Unit plug-in by Fred Anton Corvest that aims to fill this gap and provide a limiter solution for iOS. And the great thing is that unlike mastering apps like Final Touch, the plug-in can be used via Audio Units (AU) on iPad and iPhone, making it super versatile.

In this video, I take a “first look” at the plugin but using it on individual tracks (drums, vocals, guitars) in my recent song, and in a future video, I will be using it as a mastering plug-in on a master track to put it through its paces.
