πΌ Lyrics:
Intoxication, has got me under, somebody’s wicked little spell
Anticipation, of what it could be, has got me going round the bend
My addiction, so warm and comforting, don’t wanna be without it now
Alienation, from all my enemies, and I don’t know which way to turn
But In time, we could all be friends again and maybeΒ even best friends if we try
In time, all of this will be behind us, everybody has a chance to cry
Suffocation, is what I fear the most, and what I’m feeling here today
Recognition, can be the hardest part, and leave you foaming at the mouth
My repulsion, is getting hard to bear, for you it must be even worse
Generations, an uphill battle that, I plan to win before the end
But In time, we could all be friends again and maybeΒ even best friends if we try
In time, all of this will be behind us, everybody has a chance to cry
In time, everyone will have a home and there will be enough to go around
And in time, we can start again you know cause everybody gets a little down
Everybody gets a little down
π¬ Behind the song:
“In Time” was one of the first complete songs I wrote and recorded using GarageBand iOS completely. It was built around the guitar riff using the interesting Em9 and Am7 variations, with a more traditional rock chorus based around E-A-B.
The lyrics tell the story of someone dealing with deception and their own feeling of dread at their suspicion. The chorus may sound happy on the surface, but is actually intended to be a sign of the delusion, where the protagonist is trying to convince themselves that everything is fine, when clearly it is not.
Originally the song was going to be longer with a bridge and breakdown before the final chorus, but I ended up liking the intensity it generated by only being two minutes.

Iβm made of atoms, youβre made of atoms, and weβre all in this together.
Thereβs a lot going on in the world. Itβs never been more important to look out for each other.
π Lyrics
Woke up this morning
I suddenly realized
We’re all in this together
I started smiling
‘Cos you were smiling
And we’re all in this together
I’m made of atoms
You’re made of atoms
And we’re all in this together
And long division
Just doesn’t matter
‘Cos we’re all in this together
I saw you walking
In the city
We’re all in this together
The city’s changing
‘Cos we are changing
And we’re all in this together
Every twelve seconds
Someone remembers
That we’re all in this together
In the kitchen
Of your rent-control apartment
We’re all in this together
C’mon baby
I don’t mean to rush you
I only wanted to reach out and touch you
I’ve gotta start to open my heart
I know you think
About jumping ship before it sinks
But we’re all in this together
Ask a scientist
Its quantum physics
We’re all in this together
And on the subway
We feel like strangers
But we’re all in this together
Yeah i love you and you love her
And she loves him
But we’re all in this together
Y’know baby
There’s never been protection
In all the history of human connection
C’mon darling
It’s alright to show me
You don’t ever need to be lonely
Once you start to open your heart
I saw you crying
I started crying
Cos we’re all in this together
And then religion
Its a big decision
But we’re all in this together
