Recording without a click track?

A metronome or “click track” is something that can really help you keep in time when recording, and keep your tracks “on the grid”, which make editing and layering multi-tracks so much easier.

So why, oh why, would you ever want to turn the metronome off and go freestyle when recording a song?

How to use the HIGH SHELF filter in GarageBand iOS

What is a high shelf filter and how do you use a high shelf filter in GarageBand iPhone or GarageBand iPad?

A high shelf filter allows you to add an EQ “shelf” at a certain frequency which can help you boost, or cut, from a certain frequency in the high treble end of your sound, which can help add more “air” to a track or a mix.

In this video, I show you how to add the free high shelf filter in GarageBand iOS and show an example of how to use it on vocals and drums.
