Custom preset guitar amp tones in GarageBand iOS (iPhone/iPad)

Custom preset guitar amp tones in GarageBand iOS (iPhone/iPad)

In this video, I show you how to create and save custom guitar amp tones so that you can use these in other GarageBand iPhone and GarageBand iPad projects.

The amp simulator in GarageBand is awesome and has a heap of settings and stomp box/pedals to add and tweak, so the ability to save your custom settings and use them later is a great feature.

Simply select a tone to start with and then change out the amp, change settings on the amp and add or remove stomp boxes to create your own unique sound, then save this as a custom preset to use on future projects in GarageBand iOS.

Best microphones for the home studio under $100

Check out this microphone pack on Amazon:
MXL 550/551 Condenser Microphone Pack – https://amzn.to/2Jq2Skg

Best microphones for the home studio under $100

In this video, I show you my recommendation for a good quality, affordable studio condenser microphone that will help you get quality recordings in the home studio or mobile studio.

The MXL 550 and MXL 551 microphones come together in their own hard case, and include the mic clips and adapters in the box, so all you need is an XLR cable and an interface, and you’ll be recording quality sounds.

Like all condenser microphones, the MXL 550 and MXL 551 require 48v of phantom power, which is supplied by almost all modern interfaces, including the Steinberg UR12 I recently reviewed – https://youtu.be/X6alx8P-39A

How to join multiple MIDI tracks in GarageBand iOS (iPhone/iPad)

How to join multiple MIDI/virtual instrument tracks in GarageBand iPhone or GarageBand iPad

In this video, I show you how to use the join function to join multiple tracks of the same type of virtual instrument, to combine in to one MIDI track.

The join function can help you join together multiple parts in a single track, but become even more useful when you have multiple tracks of MIDI information that you want to combine and join in to one individual track.

Examples I show in this video are:
– How to combine multiple drum parts in to one drum track
– How to combine multiple keyboard parts in to one keyboard track
– How to access the “Merge Recordings” track settings to record multiple parts on one track

Cover Songs on YouTube – Are they legal?

Cover Songs on YouTube – Are they legal?

In this video, I tackle the confusing rules around performing cover songs on YouTube and provide some clarity about what you can and can’t do when covering songs on YouTube.

You have no doubt noticed that there are literally thousands of channels generating millions of views from performing cover songs. What you may not know is that the copyright holders get to choose if and how their songs are used on YouTube.

If you are planning to perform a cover song on YouTube, checkout the link below for YouTube’s “Music Policies”, where you can search by artist and song time to determine if a song you plan to cover may be blocked or muted, or if the copyright holder allows it to be used and it is eligible for revenue sharing.

For more information, head to YouTube’s Music Policies page – https://www.youtube.com/music_policies
