How to fix writer’s block with Speed Thinking

If you are struggling for song ideas, lyric ideas or even what to write about in the first place, check out this method which can help you generate loads of ideas in just 1 minute.

“Speed thinking” is a simple concept where you give yourself a set amount of time (usually 60 seconds” to come up with as many ideas as possible. We are talking quantity not quality here. The reason this works is that it prevents you from thinking too much and letting your brain reject ideas. You just let them flow out of you. You’ll be surprised how interesting some of the concepts you come up with can be.

New iPhone & iPad – What’s in it for music creators?

Apple have just announced the new iPhone 11 range as well as a new iPad.

Release Dates:
iPhone – 20th September
iPad – 30th September

So what does this mean for mobile music and video creators?

In this video I give my initial thoughts and a quick summary of the changes that may impact your music creation. Here’s an overview:

Apple iPhone 11 announcement highlights for music/video creators:

1. iPhone 11 will be faster, have better cameras, a “Pro” version… but still no headphone jack. 🎧

2. iPad (original) being updated – faster, cheaper and with a 10.2” touchscreen. 🖕

3. Everything is still Lightning – all new iPhones and iPads announced use lightning ports – only the latest iPad Pro is USB-C. ⚡️

4. Prices are actually “reasonable” – e.g. new iPad starts at US$329. This means the prices of second hand and refurbished iPads and iPhones will continue to go down, which means more iOS devices in more people’s hands. 🙏

Launch dates?
iPhone – September 20
iPad – September 30

Charger port not working? This tip could help!

How to fix a charger port which won’t connect using a simple cleaning method.

If you are having issues with your lightning, micro-USB or USB-C charger port where it won’t charge, or it keeps connecting and disconnecting, then cleaning the lint and dirt out with a toothpick might help you fix this problem.

In this video, I fix my iPhone 6S by clearing out a surprising amount of dirt and dust from the charger port.

Note – take care when using this or any other cleaning method. Do not use liquid or anything metallic.
